Call For Papers

The Department of American Culture and Literature, Başkent University, Ankara, Turkey, is pleased to announce the “International F. Scott Fitzgerald Conference,” which will be held on 7-8 May 2015. As a writer who captured (in fact, to a large extent, promoted) the spirit of what he dubbed “the Jazz Age,” Fitzgerald remains a compelling presence in popular culture as well as an enduring subject for study, research, and criticism. The aim of this two-day Conference is, through academic and critical reappraisals of Fitzgerald’s legacy in terms of both his work and life, to mark the seventy-fifth anniversary of his death. During the Conference, Fitzgerald and his writings will be addressed and discussed through multiple, cross-cultural and interdisciplinary approaches. Suggested topics for papers include but are not limited to:
